15,000 people to get jobs at RCC employment fair

A day-long job fair started at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hi-Tech Park in Rajshahi this afternoon in order to provide job opportunities to 15,000 people.

The fair titled 'smart employment fair' began around 2:00pm and will continue till 8:00pm, reports our Rajshahi staff correspondent.

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) and ICT division of the government jointly organised the fair.

At least 675 job seekers, including 218 women, have so far registered online to join the fair, said RCC Public Relations Officer Mostafiz Mishu.

Mishu said that job seekers can participate in the fair without registration.

Some 33 companies took part in the fair to hire people for their organisations, he said.

Mishu said of 33 companies, 24 will employ 15,000 job seekers in different sections.

The companies will directly hire 897 job seekers from the fair today while the rest jobs will be provided after scrutinising online applications, said the public relations officer.
