College principal suspended in Ctg over FB post
Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) today temporarily suspended the principal of its women's college over a Facebook post that allegedly hurt religious sentiment.
Chattogram Bandar Mohila College Principal Salina Akhter was suspended through a letter issued by CPA Director (Admin) Md Momunir Rashid, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent.
The screenshot of the teacher's post went viral on Facebook.
Confirming the suspension of the teacher, Mominur Rashid told The Daily Star, "Considering the overall situation, the teacher was suspended over her Facebook post ... . Departmental action is underway. She will be served a show-cause notice seeking her explanation as to why she made the post... ."
The suspension letter read, "Such act is a punishable offence under Digital Security Act-2019 and gross violation of social media user guideline-2019 and CPA service rules."
The Daily Star correspondent could not reach the teacher for comments.
