Comilla University BCL president misbehaves with VC over recruitment

President of Comilla University unit Chhatra League allegedly misbehaved with the university's vice-chancellor for not recruiting BCL men in different posts at the university.

According to sources, the university authority issued an advertisement to recruit 51 officials in different posts at the university, reports our Cumilla correspondent.

CoU unit BCL President Ilius Hossain Sabuj wanted three posts for their leaders and activists, sources said.

With this demand, Ilius along with 20 BCL men went to VC AFM Abdul Moyeen's office at 11:30am yesterday and exchanged heated words with him, in presence of Cumilla Deputy Commissioner Kamrul Hasan and some faculty members of Dhaka University, public relations officer of CoU Emdadul Haque told The Daily Star.

He once again went to the VC office at 2:00pm and misbehaved with the him as VC Abdul Moyeen said that the authorities would only recruit BCL men if they score well during recruitment test, added PRO Emdadul.

Denying the allegation, Ilius claimed that the VC became angry with them when they went to talk to him.

"We told him about the irregularities in teachers' recruitment. We have also some issues over the university officers' recruitment. Despite recruitments going on, the VC did not respond to some of our 'true' BCL leaders' application for the jobs," he claimed.

Ilius had earlier misbehaved with the VC on March 31, this year, said sources.
