JU observes 53rd anniversary

Jahangirnagar University Day was observed amid festivities on the campus yesterday, marking the 53rd founding anniversary of the university.

Over 500 jubilant former and current students of different departments, teachers, employees and officers joined the daylong programmes with colourful banners, balloons, and festoons. The day started with the hoisting of the national flag as well as JU flags and releasing balloons in front of the business studies faculty around 10:00am.

JU was founded on August 20, 1970 and formally began academic activities on January 12, 1971.
