Torture of IU student: 3 more leave hall
Three more female students of Islamic University (IU), Kushtia, who are accused of torturing first year student Phulpori Khatun, have left Deshratna Sheikh Hasina Hall yesterday.
Mawabia Jahan from the Department of Finance and Banking, Halima Akhtar Urmi from the Department of Fine Arts, and Israt Jahan Meem from the Department of Law left the hall after receiving the copy of an order asking them to leave the hall.
Confirming the development, Hamida Khatun, section officer of the hall, said Mawabia left the hall yesterday morning with her father. She used to live in Prajapati-1, Gono room of the hall, he said.
Israt Jahan and Halima Aktar left the hall yesterday afternoon and evening respectively, reports our Kushtia correspondent quoting the official.
All of them are said to be accommodated in different messes.
The vice presidents of the campus unit of Chhatra League, Sanjida Chowdhury Antara and Tabassum Islam, who were the prime accused of torturing Phulpori, had left the hall on February 16.
