Daraz Bangladesh CMO recognised for humanitarian leadership

Md Tajdin Hasan, the Chief Marketing Officer of Daraz Bangladesh is one of the recipients of the 2021 JCI Top Outstanding Young Person Award, organised by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bangladesh. 

He has been recognised by the global impact-driven organisation under the category of Social Development & Volunteering. The award washanded over to him by Dr Hasan Mahmud, the Honourable Minister of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, along with Niaz Morshed Elite, the  President of JCI Bangladesh. The award ceremony took place at the Royal Tulip Sea Pearl Resort in Cox's Bazar yesterday.

At the height of the global pandemic, Md Tajdin Hassan co-founded Mission Save Bangladesh (MSB), a humanitarian organisation that focuses on four key areas – food safety, health, economic empowerment and youth development. 

While the entire country was under lockdown, MSB coordinated and reached out to more than 100 public and private organisations; leading to the formation of an emergency relief fund worth $0.2 million. The fund was later been used to support SMEs all across the country, construct handwashing stations all across Dhaka and distribute food packs among the underprivileged population.  

Mission Save Bangladesh, backed by its dedicated team of volunteers, continues to help the society in numerous. Some of theircrecent projects were: distributing Eid gifts among children living in the marginalised peripheries of Dhaka, organising art competitions to promote peace and inclusivity, and raising medical funds for patients who are suffering from chronic illnesses. The humanitarian organisation and its value-based initiatives have been globally covered by New York Times, AP, Washington Post and other renowned media outlets. It has also won the Joy Bangla Youth Award in 2020 for its societal contribution.

Every year, JCI Bangladesh honours 10 outstanding young people under the age of 40.

JCI is a global organisation of young leaders aged 18-40 who are dedicated to bringing about a positive change for themselves and the world.

The organisation has more than 1,50,000 active members in 105 countries.

"As a marketing professional, I've always been keen to learn and understand how to serve the society. I believe all of us have our own roles to play in transforming our society into a better one. That will eventually transform to a better Bangladesh. While I'm delighted to receive this award from JCI, it gives me many more reasons to keep pushing on and help the ones all around us," Tajdin said regarding the award. 

He is currently the Chief Marketing Officer of Daraz Bangladesh, a multinational technology company that focuses on e-commerce, logistics, payment infrastructure and financial services.
