The art works of Faika Tasnia, a 12th-grader of Khulna Government Girls' College, have caused a stir on social media platforms. Faika who prefers digital platforms to portray her creative works is also a brilliant student.

Her father Mashiur Rahman Hawlader and mother Snigdha Mashiur from Khulna city are very supportive and encouraging to her creative venture, she said.

Asked how she got inspired to tread the world of digital art, Faika said, "My mother took me to art and poetry recitation classes before my formal schooling began. I used to take part in various competitions in my childhood. But later pressure of studies mounted and I got defocused from artwork. But since childhood I have been very much interested in animation andcartoons. It was out of this interest I ventured into digital art at the end of last year."

Faika said that she learnt the digital art from YouTube tutorials amid corona closure last year (2021). She did it on smartphone. She has no academic training on digital artworks.

"My intention to open the art page was to make a portfolio of all of my artworks. My page is slowly getting response from people. I am getting much response of my works in different cultural groups of Facebook," she said.

However, her achievement is not merely limited to Facebook only. She has so far bagged so many awards in recognition to her creative genius.

Some of them are Biswa Sahitya Kendra best reader award 2016, Bangladesh Shishu Academy Recitation Certificate.

She won the second place in art at the district level innational cultural competition.

Faika Tasnia recently became third in the digital art competition organised by the International Society of Artists.

"It was because of my mother's interest and inspiration that I am here today. All that I have achieved today is for her. My whole family has always supported me in this work," Faika added.
