Jashore’s Tamanna applies to Bangabandhu Memorial Trust following PM’s advice

Tamanna Akter Noora, who was born with no arms and only one leg and has secured GPA-5 in this year's HSC exams, has applied to the Bangabandhu Memorial Trust as per the suggestion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Her application has been sent to the Prime Minister's Office through the district commissioner of Jashore, reports our Benapole correspondent.

Tamanna had written to the PM, wanting to meet her, on January 24. On February 14, the PM and her sister Sheikh Rehana called Tamanna on WhatsApp and congratulated her for her brilliant result. During conversation, PM advised her to apply to the Bangabandhu Memorial Trust in order to fulfill her dreams.

"PM told me she will always be by my side. I have applied to the Bangabandhu Memorial Trust as per her suggestion. I am grateful to her for supporting my dreams," said Tamanna.

Tamanna is the eldest of three children of Raushan Ali and Khadija Parveen Shilpi of Alipur in Jhikargachha upazila, under Jashore district.

Tamanna secured GPA-5 from Bankra Degree College in science division. She passed SSC with GPA-5 in 2019. She also got A+ in her JSC and PEC examinations.

Coming from a disadvantaged background, Tamanna's dream is to become a BCS cadre.

On February 15, Education Minister Dipu Moni talked to Tamanna over phone for about 24 minutes. She advised her to study microbiology at Dhaka University.
