3 sued under DSA in Sylhet

Three people have been sued under the Digital Security Act in Sylhet for allegedly sharing derogatory posts on social media defaming the prime minister, Awami League, and its affiliated organisations.
Mustafizur Rahman, joint secretary of Sylhet district unit Muktijuddha Mancha, filed the case with Sylhet Cyber Tribunal yesterday, said the plaintiff's lawyer Tipu Ranjan Das today.
Tribunal judge Md Monir Kamal ordered Sylhet's Dakshinsurma Police to investigate the matter, the lawyer told our Sylhet correspondent.
The accused are Foyez Ahmed of Sylhet's Jaintiapur upazila, Nazmul Islam of Moulvibazar's Barlekha upazila and Nurul Islam Masud of Jherjheripara in Sylhet city.
Quoting the case statement, the accused edited and distorted the photo of the prime minister and posted it on their Facebook accounts. The accused also distorted the national slogan 'Joy Bangla'.
