1340 police personnel, including 8 OCs, 29 inspectors set to join in Cox’s Bazar police

A total of 1,340 police personnel including eight officers-in-charge (OCs), 29 Inspectors and constables are going to join in Cox' Bazar district police.

Confirming the development, Anwar Hossain, deputy inspector general of police in Chattogram range, told The Daily Star that the police personnel are heading to Cox's Bazar with 15 vehicles.

All of them are fresher, he said.

Meanwhile, our Cox's Bazar correspondent added that 37 new inspectors including eight OCs have been appointed to Cox's Bazar police.

The move was informed by a notification, signed by Additional Inspector General of police (Administration) Dr Md Mainur Rahman Chowdhury in this regard on Wednesday.

The newly appointed OCs are -- Sheikh Munir-Ul Gias, Md Hafizur Rahman, Ahmed Sanjur Morshed, Mohammad Abdul Hai, Shaker Mohammad Jobaer, KM Azmiruzzaman, Mohammad Saifur Rahman Mazumdar and Mohammad Jalal Uddin, according to the notification.

The notification also said with eight OCs and 29 inspectors will also join in Cox's Bazar police at the same time. Chattogram Range DIG will fix their new work stations.

Earlier, 42 police officials including 34 police inspectors, one superintendent of police, three additional SPs, one senior assistant superintendent of police, and three assistant SPs posted in Cox's Bazar, have been transferred out of the district.

Though the recent reshuffle in Cox's Bazar police came in three stages after the killing of retired army major Sinha Md Rashed Khan, police sources said the move is the part of routine reshuffle in the police administration.
