18, including one Rohingya person, test Covid-19 positive in Cox’s Bazar
Eighteen people, including a Rohingya refugee from Ukhia, have tested positive for Covid-19 in tests conducted at Cox's Bazar Govt Medical College today.
The field lab of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) at the medical college had tested samples from 188 persons today, said Dr Anupam Barua, principal of the medical college.
Besides the Rohingya patient, others who tested positive include eight from Sadar upazila, one each from Ukhia, Maheshkhali, Teknaf and Ramu upazilas, and five from Lohagora upazila of Chattogram, Dr Anupam said.
So far, seven Rohingyas have tested positive for Covid-19 till today.
The total number of Covid-19 positive cases in Cox's Bazar stood at 197 till today, with one death from the infection.
