Serenading the songs of nature "Water Journey" by Karu Titas

The beautiful landscapes and natural beauty of Bangladesh often  serve as a muse for noted artist Karu Titas. In his tireless quest to portray the natural and cultural heritage of Bangladesh, he frequently travels the country to get inspiration for his artistic pieces.

The artist's solo exhibition titled “Water Journey” opens today (July 29) at Shilpangan Gallery in Dhanmondi. Celebrated artist Rafiqun Nabi will inaugurate the show as chief guest, while writer and journalist Anisul Hoque will attend as special guest. Eminent critic and poet Rabiul Husain will preside over the inaugural ceremony.

The exhibition showcases boats of varied styles, rivers, hills, monsoonal fresh greenery and life in Bengal. The artist has also depicted flora, like sonalu, still life and a few abstract acrylics for the show.

The loveliness of the monsoon reigns supreme in his water colours.  Titas' propensity to depict vast landscapes coupled with boats and swirling rivers seems to foster a sense of liberated creativity as a result of being in close proximity to nature.

With water colours as his forte, Titas has carved a niche in the art milieu over the years. His art showcases an integrated form of natural and cultural heritage. 

The son of eminent Bangladeshi sculptor Birangona Ferdousi Priyabhashini, the artist does what he loves. For him, Bangladesh has unmatched beauty that leaves the rest of the world behind.

In celebration of heterogeneity and unity in diversity, the artist requests society, especially the youth, to explore the rustic beauty of Bangladesh.
