“Mrittika Maya” awarded at SAARC Film Fest
National Award winning film “Mrittika Maya” stood second at SAARC Film Festival, held in Sri Lankan capital Colombo from May 26-31, winning a silver crest.
Sri Lankan film “Motor Cycle” won the gold prize at the festival that featured nine feature films and nine short films from eight South Asian countries.
“Mrittika Maya” director Gazi Rakayet received the award at the closing ceremony of the festival. Apart from this film, two other Bangladeshi films -- feature “Shikhandi Katha” and short “The Container” -- also took part in the festival.
“Mrittika Maya”, produced by Impress Telefilm, won 17 awards including the best film at National Film Award 2013.
SAARC Film Festival has gained momentum over the last four years for promoting some of the best films from the SAARC region.
