Afzal's variety of expressions at Book Fair
Afzal Hossain, although best known for his work on the small screen in the '80s and '90s, is also a painter, writer and poet. He has been writing poetry for a long time. Publication house Annanya has brought out his poetry book, named “Kono Jonaki Ondhokar Chene Na” at this year's Ekushey Book Fair.
Besides, Annanya also published his novel, named “Jahangir Badshar Ghora”.
Afzal Hossain has also been writing columns on various issues. The publication house has also brought out a collection of his columns, named “Kothaye Kothaye Raag”.
“I have been writing poetry for many years. I published my first book with the help of my friend Faridur Reza Sagor,” Afzal told The Daily Star.
Afzal's first novel was published in the volume titled “Jubukdoy”. The volume also consisted of a novel by the noted litterateur Imdadul Haque Milon.
Afzal has so far written four novels – “Parle Na Rumki”, “Birohkal”, “Kanamachi” and “Kusumkeet”. A few years ago, a book based on Afzal's travel accounts, named “Manashbhraman”, was also published.
Regarding writing, Afzal said he writes with spirit and pleasure. “I have been planning to visit the book fair every day, but it doesn't happen,” he said.
