All aboard the 'Bhai Brother Express'
“Finally, the prodigal son returns home,” said Faridur Reza Sagar, in the unveiling of Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and Bhai Brother Express. The project, which will consist of 8 new telefilms for Eid-ul-adha, will see the eminent director return to the platform that gave him a head start in the industry, Channel i. The press conference took place at the Channel i headquarters in the presence of their Managing Director and television giant Faridur Reza Sagar, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and Nafees Anwar, Director, Personal Care and a member of the Management Committee in Unilever Bangladesh. Unilever is the prime sponsor for Bhai Brother Express.
Mostofa Sarwar Farooki stated that he is pleased to be able to return to television after a long hiatus of 8 years. “I am confident that everyone involved in the project has given it their best, and they will be some of the most must-see fictions on television this Eid,” said the director. His telefilm Ayesha will be loosely based on beloved writer Anisul Hoque's Ayeshamangal.
Alongside two tele-fictions by Farooki himself, the project will consist of work by seasoned directors Redoan Rony and Ashfaque Nipun. Redoan Rony's Pata Jhorar Din promises to be a stellar display of the innate talent that he possesses. “In the presence of so many amazing personalities, I would like to urge you to support the younger directors, many of whom are debuting with Bhai Brother Express,” said Ashfaque Nipun, who will direct Shonali Danar Chil.
Young and upcoming directors in the project include Abdullah Al Muktadir, Fahad Khan, Mahmudul Islam, Nazmul Nobin, Mahmudul Hasan, Momin Biswas and Lotus Mazumder. Nearing the end of the event, a promo consisting of all the directors in a fun little video showed off the rapport that they had built among themselves. If the hype and promotions are any indication, the Bhai Brother Express is set to reach top speed this Eid-ul-Adha with the promise of a fresh new destination.
