“Doob” traveling to Italy

Mostofa Sarwar Farooki is taking a break from the post-production of his upcoming hostage drama “Shonibar Bikel” (“Saturday Afternoon”), to travel to Italy with his most recent release “Doob” (“No Bed of Roses”). The Bangladesh-India joint production film starring Irrfan Khan has been selected in the main competition for the 28th edition of the African, Asian and Latin American Film Festival, to be held from March 19-24 in Milan.

“Doob” will compete with nine other high-profile film at the festival, including Berlinale Generation Section winner “The Seen and Unseen”, Sundance Jury Award winning documentary “Of Father and Sons” and Bright Future award winner at this year's International Film Festival Rotterdam “Azougue Nazare” and “Poisonous Roses” from the main competition of the same festival, among others.

Aside from the festival, Farooki will also spend a day with students of Milan Film School on their invitation on March 22, and travel to Turin on March 23 where “Doob” has been invited for a special screening at the National Museum of Cinema in Turin. The director will also take part in a Q&A at the screening.
