JAYA AHSAN learned actual circus tricks for a role
Jaya Ahsan has gone from strength to strength as an actor, particularly in recent years, as her success transcended borders. One of the busiest actors in Indian Bangla cinema right now, Jaya's commitment to her craft has taken her places, including a circus.
Talking to The Daily Star in Kolkata, India recently, Jaya revealed that she had to learn circus tricks for her film “Beauty Circus” that she has completed recently. “I actually play two roles in the film – one of the circus owner and another of an employee.” The Mahmud Didar-directed film also casts Tauquir Ahmed, Ferdous, Gazi Rakayet and ABM Sumon, among others. “I am confident that the audience will love this film.”
Meanwhile, the actor's latest Bangladeshi film “Debi', which also marks her debut as a producer, is in post-production. “I want to release the film here in Kolkata as well for my fans here,” Jaya told The Daily Star, adding that an announcement about that will come soon.
The film, based on Humayun Ahmed's immortal character Misir Ali, is directed by Anom Biswas and casts Chanchal Chowdhury, Iresh Zaker, Animesh Aich and Sabnam Faria along with Jaya.
India's West Bengal meanwhile, cannot seem to get enough of Jaya Ahsan. Her recent Tollywood film “Bishorjon”, which won the Indian National Award for Best Bangla film, was just released on Indian streaming platform HoiChoi. She is also has her schedule packed for the year with Tollywood films, and says she is unlikely to sing any new films in Bangladesh this year.
Right now,Jaya is working on Shibprasad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy's “Konttho”, after which she will begin her schedule for Birsa Dasgupta's “Criss-Cross”.
