Even though a panel of the Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti is supposed to serve for two years, the last election was held in May 5, 2017, where Misha Saudagar and Zayed Khan’s panel won comprehensively. The panel took their oaths on May 12, 2017, which means that technically, their term ended on the same date in this year. “We will announce the schedule this month. Since August was the month of mourning, we did not do it then”, says Misha Sawdagar, the President of the Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti. He claimed that the elections would be festive and fair this time, as well. Zayed Khan, the General Secretary of the panel, echoed the same thoughts. Even though no one has announced to contest the next elections, it is possible that there will be two panels contesting the elections this year as well.
