Shakib Khan to star in 'Password'
Your birthday was on March 28. How did you celebrate the day?
Usually, I am shooting abroad on my birthdays. Fortunately, this year, I spent it with my family, in an intimate celebration and I had a great time.
What are you currently busy with?
I have a few projects in the pipeline, but right now, I am focusing on a film titled, Password. I believe that I have quite an exciting character in the film and I will be able to offer something new to the audience with it. As an artiste, I always give my hundred percent to anything that I am a part of and I hope to work on this film with the same enthusiasm.
Recently, authorities of Bangladesh Motion Picture Exhibitors Association stated that without the intervention of the government regarding the policies of importing foreign films and encouraging more local films, movie theatres across the country will remain closed from April 12. Would you like to comment on that?
It is a matter of regret that our cinema theatres are facing these hurdles right now. As a community, we need to keep our differences aside and come together to find solutions that will help the local films to flourish.
April 3 marks the National Film Day. As an actor, how important is this day for you?
It is delightful to have a day that celebrates the films and film artistes of our nation. I am grateful to the current government for acknowledging the dedication of the people of our industry in this way.
Are you working on any films for your own production company?
I am hoping to start working on a film for my own company right after I wrap up Password. You will get to hear the details soon.
What are your aspirations as you progress through your career as a film star?
I believe that my purpose in life is to act in movies and entertain people. I have been really fortunate to be a working actor for so many years. The credit of all my achievements in my career so far goes to the fans. I am eternally thankful to them for their love and support.
