Starflixed hosts interactive discussion session on 'Debi'

Jaya Ahsan and Chanchal Chowdhury were invited to a discussion session by Starflixed titled 'Untie the Knots of Debi' on Monday at the British Council Auditorium.  Simultaneously, an exhibition was organised to showcase the “Debi” collection by renowned fashion designer, Biplob Shaha's Bishwo Rong, Debi's wardrobe partner.

Jaya Ahsan proved that she is not only a versatile actor but also a confident and visionary producer. Emphasising on the sound design of the film she said, “The sound has been designed for a theatrical experience. I urge everyone to watch the film on the big screen to enjoy it fully.” She also shed light on spreading awareness against piracy.

 “I read most of the stories of the Misir Ali series during my school days. Debi has always been my favourite and I always wanted to play Ranu,” Jaya added. “Debi is like my first child. We filmed it with our utmost sincerity.”

At the event, Chanchal Chowdhury, back-brushing his hair with his left hand, spoke out the famous dialogue “Bepar ta bojha dorkar,” which was met with cheers and applause from the audience. He shared his experience with Humayun Ahmed and said that he thinks that Misir Ali reflects the writer himself.

Debi is set to hit theatres on Friday, October 19.
