Angela Bassett speaks for women of colour
American actor and activist Angela Basset recently played the role of director of the Central Intelligence Agency in Mission: Impossible - Fallout. This year, she also appeared in Marvel's Black Panther.
Angela Basset with her portrayal of strong women in the Silver Screen thinks more women of colour deserve worthy roles in Hollywood. In an interview with NowThis Entertainment, she talks about women of colour playing particular types of insignificant roles. However, it is high time we changed the scenario, she believes.
“For a long time, we have been somewhat invisible,” says Angela Basset in the interview.
