Watch: 'Kung Fu Panda 3' spins third trailer

Powerful martial artist Po is urged to rediscover "what it means to be a panda" in a third trailer for "Kung Fu Panda 3."

Nearly two and a half minutes of excerpts are rolled into the preview reel for January release "Kung Fu Panda 3."

Starring Jack Black, Angelina Jolie and Dustin Hoffman, the animated action adventure sees Black's panda Po unexpectedly find his father before journeying to a peaceful panda village.

Once there, however, it becomes clear that Po must train up the town's bumbling bearfolk in order to repel supernatural villain Kai (J. K. Simmons.)

Jennifer Yuh was Oscar-nominated for her work steering 2011's "Kung Fu Panda 2" and here co-directs with promoted story artist Alessandro Carloni.

A US, Canadian and Chinese theatrical release date of January 29, 2016 has been set for the DreamWorks Animation and China Film co-production, with a wider international roll-out scheduled in March.
