Ask Me Anything: With Chanchal Chowdhury
With an unprecedented craze surrounding his latest big screen venture “AynabajI”, Chanchal Chowdhury's popularity has gone through the roof. Those of you who cannot stop talking about the film and his performance, here is your chance to interact directly with the man behind Sharafat Karim Ayna.
Chanchal will be the first featured artiste on The Daily Star's Facebook Live Ask Me Anything (AMA) Session, tomorrow November 2 on the Facebook Page of The Daily Star (https://www.facebook.com/dailystarnews) from 5pm.
In a video message sent to The Daily Star yesterday, Chanchal invited fans to bring all their questions for him to the Facebook Live session, promising a lively chat.
Chanchal built his foundation in theatre with the troupe Aranyak, before breaking out to the mainstream, rather unexpectedly, with a TV commercial. The advert, set to the song “Pother Klanti Bhule” (sung by Chanchal himself) brought him instant stardom, and after the groundbreaking success of Giasuddin Selim's “Monpura”, he has not had to look back, with numerous memorable performances in TV serials and single-episode plays. His roles in films have always been selective and strong, be it in Goutam Ghose's “Moner Manush” or Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's “Television”, but it was with Amitabh Reza's “Aynabaji” released in September that has brought all the spotlight on him. His portrayal of the complex, layered character of Ayna has garnered praise from critics and general audience alike, and justifiably so.
