I spent a sleepless night day before my debut play - Moutushi

Popular TV actress Moutushi Biswas is also an emerging model and anchor. Ever since her debut TV play “Ekannoborti” there has been no looking back. In a recent conversation with The Daily Star, the multi-talented artiste spoke about her professional life and shared some lighter moments.

What was it like to be in front of the camera for your debut TV play?

Moutushi: I was very tense. I spent a sleepless night before the shoot. I had come to Dhaka from Chittagong and distinctly still remember my nervousness while delivering the dialogue for my first shot. It took much preparation to get it right.

What has been your most challenging play? 

Moutushi: “Little Angel I Am Dying” based on a flashback 20 years ago where I played two roles – a housewife and a working woman. Believe me I had to put in so many rehearsals for the play, directed by Wahid Tareque.

Any memorable moments in your career?

Moutushi:  Many. Once I went to Spain to shoot for a travel show that roped in the Bangalee community. There some Bangalees appreciated my acting in one of my TV serials that was on ntv those days. It really amazed me because people in even distant lands watch our Bangladeshi TV plays. 

What strikes you after you watch your own plays?

Moutushi: One thing that always triggers me is if I could do better than this.

What is your favourite season?

Moutushi: Winter and the monsoon. I love getting wet in the rain. In my teens, I often got drenched in the rain but now it's not possible. But I've a plan to enjoy the monsoon rain with my daughter when she grows up.

Are you a shopaholic?

Moutushi: You can say so. My husband and I go to the market together. I love shopping. Often I don't take my wallet with me. But now he understands this oversight.
