A month of festivity: Aditi Mohsin

Aditi Mohsin, a popular Rabindra Sangeet singer is upbeat about the month of Ramadan and Eid-ul-fitr. She says:

“The month of Ramadan brings utmost peace in a person's life. It makes me realise that this is the month of festivity and self-control.  It is a festival for Muslims from all over the world.”

“I love this month. Apart from all the religious connotations, what I love about this month is how people exchange gifts. I remember when I was young, we used to hide our clothes to make it ultra special. I used to think that if I show my clothes to someone it will get old; though as you grow old these feelings change, but I still love getting gifts. One gift that always makes me happy is a sari, as I love wearing it.”

“Eid day is just not about wearing beautiful clothes. It is a special day for everyone. We all make delicious food on this day. At my home, it is a must that I cook payesh and beef korma.”
