Mehazabien reflects on the decade
Happy New Year! How would you look back on 2019?
Happy New Year to you too! 2019 was a great year for me. I got to work on a broad range of projects that were appreciated by the audience. I hope to continue being a part of good projects this year as well.
Tell us about your upcoming projects.
I started shooting for my first project in 2020 yesterday. It is a tele-fiction, titled Memories, directed by Mahmudur Rahman Himi.
Congratulations on completing a decade in the industry. How has your journey been so far?
Thank you so much! To be honest, I can’t express my happiness in words. It feels as though the ten years just flew by in a flash. I am grateful to the Almighty, my family, my directors, my co-artistes and everybody who has been a part of my artistic career. I would also like to give a special shout-out to my fans and well-wishers. Their love and appreciation are what keeps me going.
What are your expectations from this year?
Last year, the industry witnessed many changes. The new rules asserted by the Director’s Guild, in association with the Obhinoy Shilpi Shongho, have brought a sense of discipline in this line of work. I hope that everyone in the industry will follow the rules. As far as my career is concerned, I always take up projects that I truly like, keeping my role and the overall story in mind. This year, I would like to experiment with the kind of characters that I will play and also be a part of entertaining stories.
