Roger Daltrey
Roger Daltrey, frontman of British rock band “The Who”, made his first guitar from a block of wood, a cherry red Strat copy, and joined a band called “The Detours” who were in need of a lead singer.
They told him he had to bring a guitar, and within a few weeks he showed up with it, and he could play it too. When his father bought him an Epiphone guitar in 1959, he became the lead guitarist for the band.
“The Detours” was later renamed “The Who” in 1964, and went on to sell 100 million records, with 18 Gold, 12 Platinum and 5 Multi-Platinum album awards in the United States alone.
