Indalo's 'Hobeki?' music video starts a wildfire
'Ahead of its time' is a phrase I'd like to attribute to Indalo, a band operating on another level since their inception in 2012. In their debut album, Kokhon Kibhabe Ekhane Ke Janey, their indie-esque sound set the bar for innovation in lyrics, tune and presentation. Hobeki?, a single from their upcoming album, Uttor Khujchi Dokkhine, maintained the same trend when it released on social media seven months ago. However, the true game-changer for the band is the latest music video of the aforementioned song, which blows everything before it, out of the water.
The music video, directed by Ejaz Mehedi and starring Shaan Rahman, depicts the fictional character, Subodh, being hunted in a post-apocalyptic, cyberpunk world. From the moment the music starts, the video exhibits the marvelous levels of effort and talent put into it. Shaan is natural and believable in his portrayal of Subodh. The supporting characters have also done an excellent job in maintaining the eerie suspense that lingers in the video. The direction is spot-on, and evidently a lot of thought went into the setting, props and production, all credit due to Runout Films.
The video is a great example of how a story can be told in a finite amount of time. Hobeki? spans 8 minutes, and not a single second of it feels dull due to the brilliance of the video. If you like Indalo's music and brilliant storytelling, watch Hobeki?'s music video. If you're not a fan of Indalo, watch it to become one.
