A candid chat with Tariq Anam
National Film Award winning actor Tariq Anam Khan has been a prominent face in the industry for years. Two of his films, ‘Abar Boshonto’, directed by Ananya Mamun and ‘Nolok’, directed by Sakib Sonet, were released this Eid season. He has also worked on many television projects recently. The actor talks about his latest films and more in a chat with The Daily Star.
How did you come across the script of ‘Abar Boshonto’?
Director Ananya Mamun approached me for Abar Boshonto. The story was unlike anything that I came across before. We shot the film in Bali and Dhaka. We tried to make a film that the audience can easily connect to. Abar Boshonto conveys a beautiful message. It showcases that no matter how old you are, you should aim to enjoy your life to the fullest.
Tell us a little about your experience of working on the film.
To be honest, it was very bold of director Ananya Mamun to cast me as the male lead of Abar Boshonto. Not all directors are as brave as her. People of my age rarely get the opportunities to play such roles. I had a great experience working on the film.
You have worked with Shakib Khan in ‘Nolok’, another Eid release. How do you feel about the success of that film?
We are overwhelmed with the positive response for Nolok from all over Bangladesh. It is a complete family film and it has a festive vibe to it. I am happy to be a part of two notable Eid films this year.
What other films are you currently busy with?
I have completed shooting for Beporoya, directed by Raja Chanda and Peyarar Shubhaash, directed by Nurul Alam Atiq. I will start shooting for Gangchill next month.
