The month of December typically witnesses a surge in films based on the Liberation War, but this year has been an exception. However, as the year draws to a close, a Liberation War-themed film is making its mark. "Nakshi Kathar Zamin" hits cinemas across the country today.

Directed by Akram Khan, the film is based on the renowned author Hasan Azizul Haque's story Bidhobader Kotha and captures the events of the 1971 Liberation War.

The narrative follows two sisters, Fatema and Hasina, who are married to two siblings, Karim and Salim, from the same household. During the Liberation War, Karim becomes a member of the Razakar force, while his son, Akbar, fights for the Mukti Bahini.

Conversely, Salim joins the Mukti Bahini, but his son, Wahid, aligns with the Razakar force. Amidst the opposing allegiances of the men, the story highlights the quiet resilience and struggles of the two women.

Nusrat Imrose Tisha and Tasnova Tamanna portray the sisters, while Tariq Anam Khan and Arifin Shuvoo take on the roles of the brothers. The cast further includes Nayeem Imtiaz, Imran Mahmudul, and others.

After months of anticipation, Jaya Ahsan's film "Nakshi Kathar Zamin" is finally set to hit theatres nationwide. Earlier in February, her film "Peyarar Shubash" was released. Jaya is optimistic about the upcoming release and feels particularly thrilled that the film coincides with Victory Month.

Sharing her thoughts, Jaya remarked, "It brings me immense joy that 'Nakshi Kathar Zamin' is going to be released during this special month of victory. I hope the younger generation will come to watch this film.

She added, "If they wish to understand the sacrifices of the previous generation, how our country's map was shaped, and the immense blood, sweat, and toil that went into it, or if they want to witness the power of collective effort, they should not miss this film."
