‘Haree Phatibe’ staged at BSA
Utpal Natyadal staged the 50th show of their play, Haree Phatibe, at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), recently.
Based on a story by Utpal Datta, the play is directed by Apu Shahid. It reveals the recklessness of human beings, and presents their selfishness, hypocrisy and corrupt nature, through a witty and humorous script. The characterisation and comedic elements in the play not only manages to entertain the audience, but also depict real-life circumstances.
The cast of the play was comprised of Enamul Mir, Imtiaz Asad, Nur Sabah, Shukorno Ahmed, M R Hasan, Moni Kanchan, Hasne Ara Dahlia, Kazi Paris, Mintu Sarder, Shohag, and Ratul Mir. Mintu Sarder, an assistant director, provided the technical backstage support for the production.
Thandu Raihan was behind the lighting and Apu Shohid directed the music and background score, along with other members of the crew.
