'A Man for All Seasons' applauded at Ganga-Jamuna Sangskritik Utshab 2018
As a part of the ongoing 11-day Ganga-Jamuna Sangskritik Utshab 2018, Prachyanat staged A Man for All Seasons at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) on Sunday at 7 pm. Originally written by the British playwright Robert Bolt, the script of A Man for All Seasons has been translated by Shahed Iqbal and directed by Azad Abul Kalam.
The play depicts the life and time of member of the Privy Council, Sir Thomas More, a man of principles, who stood up to King Henry VIII, when the monarch rejected the Roman Catholic Church to obtain a divorce and remarry.
The cast of the production included Toufikul Emon, Azad Abul Kalam, Shakhawat H Rezvi, Topon Majumder, Reetu Sattar, Heera Chowdhury, Shatabdi Wadud, Shahed Ali and many more. Aranyak Natyadal staged The Jubilee Hotel at BSA's Experimental Theatre Hall on the same evening as well.
