Tonima Hamid on stage with ‘Eka Eka Nari’
In the group's 54th production, Tonima takes the stage in Eka Eka Nari. Based on Franca Rame's A Woman Alone, the script was translated by Abdus Selim. The play was directed by Debarasad Debnath.
Eka Eka Nari was first staged on March this year. It will be staged at Bangladesh Mahila Samity today at 7 pm.
Tonima plays Maria, a lonely woman who has to live through a life of humiliation and oppression. Maria, who is imprisoned in a high-rise building, portrays centuries of physical and mental abuse, oppression, injustice inflicted upon women across the world.
The light design, sound design, costume design and stage planning of the play was done by Nasirul Haque Khokon, Ahsan Reza Tushar, Irin Parvin Lopa and Zunaed Yusuf respectively.
