Stage One presents “Suchona” at Shilpakala

Theatre troupe Stage One Dhaka presented their acclaimed production "Suchona" at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on April 24 evening. The play, scripted by veteran actor and theatre personality Abul Hayat, has been directed by noted actor and theatre activist Rahmat Ali. 

It brings four of finest female actresses of the country – Mita Chowdhury, Wahida Mallick Jolly, Chitralekha Guha and Naznin Hassan Chumki – on the same stage. 

The plot encircles four middle-aged school friends who meet each other for the first time since the Liberation War. During the course of their conversations as they reminisce the past, the audience comes to know about the Liberation War and its spirit. Each of the four women reveals a story of her life during the War. 

Dominic Gomes has designed the stage and choreographed the play, while the costumes have been designed by Wahida Mallick Jolly.
