“I'm not a big 'Game of Thrones' fan”
Masuma Rahman Nabila, who began her career as a television presenter and model, rose to fame with her debut acting role in “Aynabaji”. Her fan base has grown rapidly since, and in a recent conversation with The Daily Star, the star talks about her life beyond the camera.
What is the ideal way to spend a weekend?
Nabila: Since we work freelance there is no such thing as a fixed weekend. We do have days off, in between filming. The first thing I do is sleep in, without worrying about having to be somewhere. After I get up, I take my time eating with family, because on working days I am always in a hurry and not able to savour my food. So on those days I usually request my favourite dishes to be made, and sometimes I love settling down in front of the TV to eat. I watch a lot of movies, TV series and western talk shows. Recently I've seen “Lost” and “House of Cards” which I loved, and I still watch reruns of “Friends”. I'm not a big “Game of Thrones” fan. In the evening I meet up with my friends and we hang out, or go tend to personal errands such as visiting the beauty salon, or shopping.
What was your most memorable vacation?
Nabila: Once a couple of my friends and I made the spontaneous decision to travel to Cox's Bazaar for a day. We had planned the night before and left the next day. During that day we did everything one could do there, from eating at popular spots to parasailing.
What is your favourite dress style? Who are your favourite designers?
Nabila: I love Pinku bhai's salwar kameez, but I hardly get to wear anything by a designer I admire. I usually dress casual, opting for comfortable choices such as jeans, shirts, or kurtis.
If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you have?
Nabila: Maggi noodles. I can live on that for the rest of my life.
What are your pet peeves?
Nabila: I hate when people brag about themselves.
