From the sets Purnima and Mir Sabbir in action
Khonikaloy, a shooting house situated in Uttara, is currently the filming spot for “Bhimroti Birombona”. Crowds spill out into the street one sweltering afternoon, vying for a glimpse of Mir Sabbir who faces the camera. Once the scene is over, the actor retreats into the makeup and changing rooms, where Purnima too is readying for her shot. Director Imraul Rafat enters to tell Sabbir to prepare for a solo scene. An hour later, Purmina descends from the rooms attired in a three-piece salwaar kameez, and the two actors ready themselves for the next scene.
Purnima, in character, hands a shopping list to Sabbir, who is on his way out to his office. An argument ensues between the couple. However after filming, the actress breaks into peals of laughter, and everyone around her joins in. Filming for the next scene goes on in a small darkened room, where a dream sequence is in the works. In this scene Sabbir's character dreams of his wife approaching him. The shooting for this particular scene is very time consuming as there are noisy interruptions from a cranky generator in the next building.
This is a day on the sets for Sabbir and Purnima who are working together after 10 years. Sabbir stated, “Ten years ago Purnima and I worked together in a drama titled “Moner Raja,” and now here we are, working together again.”
Purnima added, “Yes, we are working together in a telefilm after 10 years, but four years ago we worked together in a television commercial.”
Come Eid, “Bhimroti Birombona” will premiere on a private channel.
