CAIRO DELEGATION CALLS ON PM

The visiting four-member Egyptian trade delegation today calls on Prime Minister Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the secretariat. The delegation conveys goodwill to the prime minister on behalf of the people and the government of Egypt. Bangabandhu reciprocates and says the people of Bangladesh have always been sympathetic to the Arab cause. He narrates how during the war on the Suez issue Bangladeshi people lent spontaneous support to Egypt. The prime minister hopes both the countries would come closer not only in trade but also in other spheres of cooperation. The delegation chief Abdul Maguid Hasni presents a frame of Quranic inscription to the prime minister.

BONN OFFERS DM 80M CAPITAL AID

West German Government will provide capital aid amounting to DM 80 million to Bangladesh. Of this amount, DM 15 million has been allocated for meeting emergency aid requirements of Bangladesh.

INCREASE OUTPUT

Bangabandhu today asks the working class of the country to work with missionary zeal and increase production in the fields, mills and factories. Talking to a group of workers at the Gono Bhaban, Bangabandhu says production must be increased so that the benefits of liberation could be enjoyed by all within the shortest possible time. Unless production is increased the masses could not reap the benefits of liberation, he maintains.

Bangabandhu further says socialism, as envisaged by his government, would usher in an era of peace and prosperity in the country which has long been exploited by foreign forces. He asks the workers to imbibe in themselves the spirit of socialism and work for its establishment.
