'Rohingyas attack' German journos in Ukhia camp
A group of Rohingyas in Ukhia's Kutupalong refugee camp attacked six people, including three German journalists, and snatched valuables from them yesterday.
The attackers also vandalised their cars, said police and witnesses.
Surat, a community leader of the camp, said the attackers thought the journalists were child traffickers.
They were distributing clothes among Rohingya children near Shah Porir Dwip Jame Mosque around noon when they were attacked.
Abul Khair, officer-in-charge of Ukhia Police Station, said a policeman -- Constable Jakir Hossain -- was also injured when he tried to rescue the victims.
Police were conducting drives to arrest the culprits, the police official said.
The victims sustained critical injuries and were sent to a local hospital, the OC said.
Around one million Rohingya refugees now live in camps across Cox's Bazar district.
