Two die as Bailey bridge collapses with truck
This Bailey bridge in Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj collapsed when the truck was crossing it early yesterday. Two people in the truck were killed.
Two transport workers were killed as a Bailey bridge with an iron sheet-loaded truck collapsed into a canal in Sunamganj's Chhatak upazila early yesterday.
The victims are Md Abedin, 40, of Sunamganj Sadar upazila, Abul Hossain, 25, of Chhatak.
The truck was heading for Dowara Bazar in Chhatak from Chittagong. The bridge collapsed when the vehicle was crossing it on Chhatak-Dowara Bazar road at Laxmibaor around 1:00am, said Atiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Chhatak Police Station.

Road communications between Chhatak upazila town and Dowara Bazar has remained snapped since the accident happened, the police official added.
