Covid-19: 11 die, 1,865 infected in 24 hours

Bangladesh recorded 11 coronavirus deaths and 1,865 fresh cases in 24 hours (till 8am today).

The recovery count rose to 5,15,989 after another 1,510 patients were discharged from hospitals during the period, a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said today.

"Eleven more Covid-19 patients died in 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 8,608," the release said.

It said the tally of infections has surged to 5,62,752 as 1,865 new cases were confirmed during the period.

A total of 24,275 samples were tested at 219 authorised laboratories across the country during the time.

Of the total sample tests, 7.68 percent tested positive, the release added.

Among the total infections, 91.69 percent patients have recovered, while 1.53 percent died so far since the first Covid-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8.
