Budget prioritises business, pvt sector growth

The budget for fiscal 2019-20 is focusing on grooming business and private sector growth, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has said.

It aims to create an investment-friendly atmosphere for the private sector and expand exports, he said in his budget speech at the parliament.

He said, the budget ensures business-friendly tax management, reforms in the financial sector and aid an increase in public sector investment.

He also revealed the aim of achieving the double-digit growth "as quickly as possible" with the focus on business and private sector growth.

Timely implementation of mega projects such as Padma Bridge, Rooppur Nuclear plant, ports and other projects will push the country towards desired growth, he added.
