Convicted war criminal arrested from Dhaka's Keraniganj

A convicted war criminal who was sentenced to death by the International Crimes Tribunal for his crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971, was arrested from Dhaka's Keraniganj area early today.
A team of Anti-Terrorism Unit of Police arrested Abdul Khaleque Talukder, 73, said Aslam Khan, superintendent (media) of ATU.
Talukder, a war criminal from Netrokona, was on the run for seven years, he added.
On March 29 in 2019, the tribunal handed death sentences to five war criminals including Khaleque for committing murders, raping, abduction and torture in Netrokona during the Liberation War.
