The Reading Café opens a new branch in Banani

The Reading Cafe bookstore has recently opened its latest branch in Banani, an addition to three previous branches expanded across Dhaka since its inception in 2014. The store was founded by Atikur Rahman, a creative individual who sensed the need for such a space amongst bookworms in Dhaka and who had previously established the And Or company, which specialises in supplying and importing international books.

The store boasts a rather diverse collection of books from local and international publishers along with a small café and a children's playing zone. Popular manga, biographies, children's books, and latest international releases across genres are expected to become available at the store within two weeks of publication. Prices of the imported original editions are kept as reasonable as possible with regards to their quality, Rahman tells The Daily Star

Book bloggers in the city have taken quite a liking to The Reading Cafe largely because of the environment it provides for content creation in the said field, with international titles and "Instagrammable" book stacks. Others have commended the arrival of a spacious bookstore stocked with new releases in the Gulshan-Banani area, where such venues have been rare for some time.

A 20 percent discount is also available at The Reading Café for the month of February to commemorate the Bangla Language Movement of 1952.
