Poet Syed Ali Imam did not compose any poem in the last 53 years. He had lost everything -- the entire collection of 11 years of poetry writing -- during the liberation war of 1971. Suddenly, the occasion of February 21 in 2015 stimulated him to write again.
Elements of some of his poetry seem to be quite similar; however, his style of presentation is diverse and unbelievably amazing. Many of his poetry tell the stories of how he experienced his eventful life. His witty rhythm, incredibly accurate word orders and perfect choice of vocbulary will attract a reader.
It is really remarkable that at the age of 83, this gifted poet rediscovered his talent and composed some of the greatest poems of modern times. On November 1, 2016, the publisher assured him in the morning that all of his works would be published unedited.
However, in this year's book fair, his book will be published with an additional sentence in the author's profile. He breathed his last on November 1, 2016.
His book of poetry titled "Shatabdir Phul" (A Flower in a Century) has 74 poems in total. Every poem of the book has such deep, introspective words that they can be expanded into vast novels; which can also be depicted through hundreds of artistic paintings. This book will be loved by all, even the ones who don't like poetry.
