Dhaka Bank signs MoU with Dhaka North City Corporation to collect bills
Dhaka Bank PLC signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) for collecting holding tax and trade licence fees from the residents of DNCC.
Sheikh Mohammad Maroof, managing director and CEO of the bank, and Mohammed Masud Alam Siddique, chief executive officer of DNCC, signed the MoU at Nagar Bhaban in the capital's Gulshan today, according to a press release.
Under the MoU, Dhaka Bank will collect fees and taxes at Dhaka Bank branches and sub-branches by establishing API connectivity with the DNCC server in the first phase.
In the next phase, residents of DNCC will be able to pay fees and taxes online, on a real-time basis, from anywhere through the Dhaka Bank mobile app and internet banking.
Sheikh Abdul Bakir, deputy managing director of the bank, delivered a speech expressing his assurance of providing uninterrupted and modern banking services.
Mohammad Moniruzzaman, chief revenue officer of DNCC, also emphasised the need for service excellence in his speech.
Mosle Saad Mahmud, head of liability and cash management unit at the bank, Altamas Nirjhar, head of the general services division, Md Asif Hossain, head of the information technology department, and Md Aftab Uddin, branch manager of the Gulshan Circle-2 branch, were present.
Mohammad Mamun-ul-Hasan, chief social welfare and slum development officer at DNCC, and Md Barkat Hayat, chief accountant officer, along with senior officers of both organisations, were also present.
