Dhaka stocks extend gains
Shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose today building on the gains in the last few trading sessions.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse in Bangladesh, was up 16 points, or 0.25 per cent, to 6,449 at 12:45 pm.
On the DSE, 179 stocks advanced, 124 declined, and 75 did not show any price movement.
Turnover hit Tk 425 crore in the first two and a half hours of the trading.
Aramit Cement gained the most with a 9.7 per cent rise. Meghna Condensed Milk, Peninsula Chittagong, Meghna Pet Industries, and AFC Agro were also among the top gainers.
