Dhaka stocks fall after gaining initially
Shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) fell today despite opening higher initially.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse in Bangladesh, lost 28 points, or 0.45 per cent, at 6,298 by 1:20 pm. Turnover stood at Tk 363 crore.
At 12:45 pm, the index was up 9 points, or 0.15 per cent, at 6,327.
Of the securities, 92 advanced, 230 declined and 57 did not show any price movement.
Global Heavy Chemicals Limited gained the most with a 9.91 per cent rise.
Meghna Insurance, Meghna Condensed Milk Industries, Central Insurance Company, and Prime Textile Spinning Mills also advanced significantly.
