Dhaka stocks up

Shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) opened higher today.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, stood at 6,515 at 12:30 pm, up 17 points, or 0.27 per cent.

Turnover at the premier bourse in Bangladesh stood at Tk 548 crore.

Among the securities, 159 advanced, 165 declined and 53 did not show any price movement.

Provati Insurance and Pioneer Insurance jointly topped the gainers' list, each rising 10 per cent. Reliance Insurance, Bangladesh National Insurance and Paramount Insurance also rose.
