Stocks push higher
The stock market in Bangladesh continued its gaining streak for five consecutive days today.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose 37 points, or 0.59 per cent, to 6,6430 at the time of the filing of the report at 1:00 pm.
Of the securities, 249 advanced, 72 gave up, and 57 did not see any price movement.
Turnover, one of the key indicators of the market, stood at Tk 431 crore in the first three hours of trading.
Aramit Cement topped the gainers' list with a 9.69 per cent rise. Paper Processing and Packaging, Rangpur Foundry, Usmania Glass Sheet, Rahima Food, and Monno Agro were among the top gainers.
