3-day US Trade Show begins Thursday
The three-day US Trade Show will begin in the capital on October 27 to showcase American products and services in Bangladesh and give a boost to the bilateral trade.
The 28th show jointly organised by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) and the US embassy in Dhaka will take place at Pan Pacific Sonargaon in the capital.
Syed Ershad Ahmed, president of AmCham, made the announcement today at a press briefing in the capital while US Ambassador Peter D Haas was present.
A wide range of US products and services would be displayed at the show, said AmCham President said that
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi is scheduled to inaugurate the show as the chief guest when Arun Venkataraman, assistant secretary of commerce for global markets and director general of the US and Foreign Commercial Service, will remain present as the special guest.
Over 40 companies operating in Bangladesh's energy, banking and financial services, food and beverage sectors will display the products and services of US brands.
This year's event is particularly significant because it is the first US trade show in Dhaka held in person since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
